It's Fall and time to head back to school - Alosia & Ozzy began next levels of obedience training at Pawsitive Attitudes.
Bruno had a great first show on August 8 and celebrated his birthday on August 12.

Midas Therapy "Show & Tell"

Midas visited Court Street Baptist Church & Court Street Academy on April 24.  
He was a great representation of the calm, gentle nature of a therapy dog,
and he was a great Shiloh breed ambassador.  

We spoke to a group of students who are members of the school's Community Outreach Program,
which involves students in volunteer activities in our community and beyond.  

Then, the children all lined up to pet our "gentle giant".

Ozzy's Excellent Adventure
Ozzy, Terri & Kelsey traveled to the Blue Ridge Mountains
May 8 - 10.  We stayed at the beautiful Fox Hill B&B in Fairfield,
Virginia, explored the scenic surroundings, attended the
Stonewall Kennel Club AKC Fun Match, participated in Obedience
and Rally-O competitions, and spent time at Sweet Briar College.

NAKC Lums Pond Classic
We attended the NAKC/Rarities Lums Pond
Classic in Bear, Delaware over Memorial
Day Weekend 2009.

Midas was Best of Breed in Show #1 and
Herding Group 3; In all, Midas was 5 X
Winners Dog, and 5 X Best of Winners.

Ozzy was 5 X Reserve Winners Dog.

We had a marvelous time seeing many
Shiloh friends and watching spectacular
Shilohs compete over the 2 day event.

Bruno!
On August 8, BRUNO won the
Puppy Sweeps at the
2nd Annual Maritime Shiloh
Specialty, held in PEI, Canada.

Also, in both the ISSDC Specialty
and the TSSR Specialty,
he was Reserve Winners Dog!

Back to School
It's Back to School time at Xanadu!

Alosia started Basic Obedience
training at Pawsitive Attitudes on
September 5.

At 5 months old, she's the
youngest, and almost the largest
dog in class.

Ozzy begins his next level of Rally
training later in September.

Fun Match - 9/12/09
Alosia and Midas participated in the Colonial
Terrier Club All Breed Fun Match in Hampton,
Virginia on September 12.

This was Alosia's first show, and we are very
proud of her.  She has lots of growing to do, and
Fun Matches are a great way to encourate
socialization and introduce dogs to showing.  

Midas went along to lend encouragement!  He
wowed the spectators and was a wonderful
ambassador for Shilohs.

Both dogs were Best of Breed, and Alosia
received a beautiful Group 3 ribbon.
XANADU Shiloh Shepherds & Giant Malamute
AKC Match - 9/20/09

Alosia participated in her first AKC
Sanctioned Match on Sunday, September 20
at Kempsville Park in Virginia Beach, VA

She received  ribbons for first place in the
6 - 9 month class and Best of Breed.

The weather was beautiful and provided
good socialization and practice.
Midas at Sweet Briar College
Kelsey asked if Midas could come with the
family when we picked her up for
Thanksgiving break.  He was a tremendous
breed ambassador, calm travel partner, and he
loved the beautiful campus and meeting new
friends.  Plus, it gave us some great photos!
Learning to Read
Inspired by a Shiloh Shepherd named Cady
and her dedicated owner/trainer Martha,
we are embarking on a learning adventure
with our Shilohs - teaching them to read
and respond to written obedience
commands.  We are very excited to
incorporate this fun activity in our daily
training exercises.  
Here are a few photos of our first 2 learned
words "Sit" and "Lay".

While Kelsey was home for Winter
break, we filmed Alosia doing a few new
tricks and enjoying time at the park.

Due to a recent leg/hip injury, Alosia is
on restricted leash exercise, but it's not
stopping her from having fun.
